Kashmir’s ‘Tramboo Sports’ Hits a Six on ‘Shark Tank India 3’ – Secures Rs 30 Lakh Deal with Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal

Srinagar-based Tramboo Sports, the leading manufacturer of Kashmir’s willow bats, scored big on the entrepreneurial reality show ‘Shark Tank India’ season 3, sealing a lucrative deal of Rs 30 lakh with two seasoned investors.

The cricket bats produced by Tramboo Sports are renowned for being crafted from two types of willow – English willow and Kashmiri willow. The latter, known for its weight, has posed a challenge for cricket enthusiasts. However, the dynamic duo behind Tramboo Sports, 18-year-old Hamad Tramboo and 20-year-old Saad Tramboo, presented an innovative solution on the ‘Shark Tank India’ stage.

With a vision to make Kashmir Willow Bats the preferred choice in cricket, the co-founders sought Rs 30 lakh in exchange for three percent equity. In a surprising turn, they closed the deal with Peyush Bansal, the co-founder and CEO of Lenskart, and Aman Gupta, co-founder and CMO of BOAT, at Rs 30 lakh for four percent equity.

Sharing their exhilarating experience on ‘Shark Tank India,’ Hamaad Tramboo, co-founder of Tramboo Sports, expressed their disbelief at pitching their business to the sharks. “Growing up watching Shark Tank since childhood, we never imagined that one day we would be pitching our business to the sharks. It was beyond our wildest dreams, and our experience was truly incredible, something we are still processing,” he remarked.

From the start of their pitch, the sharks’ interest and energy were unparalleled, keeping the young entrepreneurs motivated throughout. The insightful questions from the investors challenged them to think critically and showcase the true potential of their product.

Hamaad added, “It was indeed an invaluable learning experience that we will never forget—a moment that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.”

Tramboo Sports’ collection includes Tennis Bats designed for tennis balls and Season Bats suitable for season balls, making cricket affordable and accessible to all. The incorporation of Singapore Cane Handles, adept at absorbing shocks, significantly elevates the quality of their bats.

Since its inception in 2021, Tramboo Sports has made an impressive mark, selling over 20,000 bats and even securing a deal for 1,000 bats in Qatar. The success story of these young entrepreneurs adds another chapter to the legacy of ‘Shark Tank India 3,’ which airs on Sony LIV.
