As part of the promotion activities, Amazon has unveiled a unique and massive 35,000 sq ft poster in the slums of Chembur, right in the heart of Mumbai to mark the launch of the web series. A large part of the slum was taken over to mark the launch of this incredible drama series about dreaming big and having the drive and passion to achieve those dreams. This endeavor is the first of its kind by an OTT platform, Amazon miniTV created history with this singular largest branding done in the slums till now.
Slum Golf has been building eagerness amongst the audience and striking the hearts of viewers with an innovative approach. The idea is to connect with the audience in a better way as the protagonist of the series hails from Chembur. It showcases the struggle of a young passionate boy Pawan, who wants to become a pro-golfer while he comes from the slum area and has no sources to achieve his dreams.
The promotion started all the way back during the ICC World Cup semi-final clash between India and New Zealand where a fan was spotted holding a placard saying, “They won coz they knew how to be like Pawan. #BelikePawan.” The hashtag #BelikePawan was also trending on social media around the same time. Netizens were wondering who is Pawan and how he helped the team win.
They received their answer with the trailer launch of ‘Slum Golf,’ revealing that he’s a character from the show. This innovative marketing approach stirred curiosity in the story of Pawan and now the poster reveal has further added fuel to audience interest.
