By Anantapur Sports Academy and La Liga Foundation have partnered in 2018 to promote grassroots football in rural communities of India. One of the main objectives is to encourage girls’ football participation in rural communities of Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
Seeing the potential of the girls through the project, the La Liga Foundation, in partnership with ASA, started the first residential academy for the talented U15 girls from grassroots community clubs in 2020, where the girls are provided with a full scholarship that covers their sports training, lodging & boarding, competitive exposure.
Seeing the lack of competitive opportunities in the lower age group for girls in India, the ASA – La Liga Foundation has initiated the INSPIRE Cup to create a platform for Girls academy/club teams across India to have quality competitive exposure for girls to showcase their talent. Inspire Cup also focuses on creating a cultural exchange between girls from various parts of India through fun and engaging activities.
1st Edition of the Inspire Cup was held in July 2022, with five teams participating. A second edition was held in January 2023, with seven girls’ teams across India participating in the tournament. The girls participated in various fun and engaging activities during the tournament as part of a cultural exchange program.
The 3rd edition of the INSPIRE Cup will be held from 3rd to 7th January 2024 at Anantapur Sports Academy (Andhra Pradesh) for U17 Girls teams across India. This year, the tournament targets the participation of 10 teams with Round Robin + finals along with fun and engaging activities.
